IGVC: Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition
IGVC is an annual robotics competition where we design, build, and program autonomous ground vehicles. For our first year, we built a holonomic hexagon-based robot as the base to ensure we can reverse and rotate on the stop. It is designed to navigate an obstacle course and perform specific tasks without human intervention, only relying on the sensors and camera on board. Even though our vehicle was only able to navigate to around 88 feet, we received the Rookie of the Year award for demonstrating a new path-planning technique that took advantage of its holonomic behavior.
